It was done in appreciation for the undying support of the patrons of the arts
around the Gulfport area. Without people such as these, art is just another word!
This theater seats 178 people comfortably and has a sloping floor for better viewing. It also provides an intimate atmosphere lacking in larger theaters in the area.
Both a lobby and an adjoining outside enclosed courtyard are available to the audience during intermissions.
Concessions are available from the City of Gulfport.
FREE parking is available in the theater's parking lot, the Senior Center's lot, or at the adjacent lot of the Gulfport Public Library.
This theater is owned, operated, and run by the City of Gulfport, and is available for rental from them.
The Gulfport Community Players opened their season on January 18, 2001 at the new Catherine A. Hickman Theater of Gulfport.
The two-act comedy/drama,"The Dining Room", had eight performances over a two week period, nearly all of which were sold out.
Tickets were just $7 to this, their first full-length production, at the new theater.
